Falling on poor (blogging) habits

Falling a little behind because life has been insanely busy as of late. Will try to post last weeks 366 pictures tonight.

Quick life update:
Had two of my closest friends come up this past weekend and had a blast hanging out with each of them. One came up with just her fiance and I got to help her shop for things for her house and use the hot tub at the hotel they were staying at (I'm pro-hot tub in every situation).

My other friend also came up with her fiance, but more as a giant group of people I got to know during my 3rd/4th year of college. It was fun to see all of those guys again, but it also reminded me of how much I've changed since the days of our friendship.

Anyway, that's about the latest and greatest in my life. More interesting tidbits to come with my photos.

366 Photo Project- Week 1

This is my dog Bebo. He thinks he's a model or something. (January 1, 2012)
Trying out the self-timer on the camera I received for Christmas. The 13 is because it was my 13th workout since returning from Wolf Ridge. (Another January 1, 2012)
Not the best quality, but a funny picture of my mother none-the-less. This was taken right before going to the gym. (January 2, 2012)
I have a really bad tendency to lose things and I misplaced my purse (which held my camera and a number of other important things) on this day so I took a few pictures with my phone. They were all equally crap so I figured why not share my, I hope it isn't gone forever, face. (January 3, 2012)
This is my assistant manager at work. I've been talking about planking for months now and decided it was the perfect time for her to learn. (January 4, 2012)
As middle school as it is, I'm using this 366 Project to learn to take better self portraits. This is right after having supper with Liz and before going to bed at 9pm. (January 4, 2012)
This photo is obviously from the night of my video. After the gym and working with self-timer and trying weird, different body poses. (January 5, 2012)
Bebo (top) and Crookston (bottom) are my babies. They'll be documented more than most people's children. Get excited. (January 6, 2012)
Michaels had mittens on sale for $.20 and hats for $.80, and Old Navy had a set of two pairs of mittens on sale for $.99 and hats for $1.99, so I loaded up for the kids at the group home where I work. I went back after the picture was taken so this is a small portion of what I'll be bringing to work tomorrow. My kids always seem to be losing their hats and mittens since they work with so many different people during the day, so I figured an extra five pair per child wasn't overkill :) (January 7, 2012)

Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes

After I left the gym at 9:30, I realized I hadn't taken my photos for the day. I could have saved this video to share on Saturday, but I was too excited.

Resolutions

It's a new year which means it's time for goal-setting. Here is a short laundry-list of things I hope to accomplish this year.

Blog more- I'm currently in the process of making my own planner (because I can never find one that has everything I want and feel that I need) and I'm including a blog post planning sheet. My goal is to post 2-3 times a week depending on my schedule. I read something about goals on Gretchen Rubin's Happiness Project about how when she started her blog, she had to do it daily or it wouldn't have worked for her...I'm hoping that I'm going to be the exception to that rule when it comes to blogging.

366 Picture Project- I'm trying to take a picture every day. I'm on day 4 and it's already more difficult that I anticipated. I'm attempting this one with my friend Lynsey over at Read. Write. Create. She's a scrapbooker, but I'm not attempting anything nearly that ambitious. I plan to post my favorite pictures on this blog on Saturdays (so that ties back to the blog more goal). Eventually, if I follow through for all the days, I will maybe make a photo book online to document it. I think the thing I'm most excited for with this goal is that I got a new camera for Christmas so this will help me become better acquainted with it and allow me to document more life moments. Now I have an excuse to be the crazy lady with a camera :)

Run a Half-Marathon- Hoping to be able to complete this goal by May so I can run in the Fargo Half-Marathon. Now I feel the need to share that I am starting from nothing. I do not like to workout. I started going to the gym roughly halfway through December, but have only just gotten up to ALMOST being able to run a mile without passing out. I'm not likely to stick with working out unless I have a goal and I figure, go big or go home!

Do one selfish thing a month- When I told my mom this resolution, she laughed and said she thinks I underestimate how selfish I am. Maybe I'm biased, but I think I'm a pretty giving person. Most days I work 2 jobs, if not more, and then I either go to the gym (which is not a fun selfish thing, so it doesn't count) and then I go home and either go to bed or work on stuff for my kids at school. If December had been a part of my goal, my piercings would have counted. I haven't figured out January's selfish thing, but February is a haircut and possibly color.

Be the bomb in college- Not really a goal/resolution, but I'm going back to college this semester and I am so excited. I was kind of floating this past year and I feel like my life is back on track after a bit of a detour. It's hard to get around yourself when you're the obstacle, but one day I woke up and was ready. This time-off has been great, but I'm ready to get serious and work toward my future. My legitimate goal is straight As because I think it'll show the Teaching program that I'm serious and ready to blow their minds.

Those are my resolutions and goals so far. I have this feeling in the pit of my stomach that this year is going to be amazing. I'm ready to (prepare yourself for cheese) be the best version of myself and I know this year is going to be filled with immeasurable happiness. I wish you all the best of luck on your goals and would love to hear about them if you'd like to share.
